Daddy's Back Saturday 9

If you're not familiar with today's song, you can hear it here.
1) Crazy Sam's dad often traveled for business, and always remembered to bring her the little complimentary soaps or body lotions he got from the hotel. When you travel, do you bring back souvenirs? Send post cards?
I don't send postcards, though I will sometimes buy them for the picture.  I try to get something for the grandsons.  When we went to Branson, we came back with an engineer's hat and whistle, that were a big hit.  I use to bring back something that would be appropriate for the Christmas tree, decorating in December would bring back memories for all of us.
2) When you fly, do you prefer window or aisle? Or doesn't it matter?
I prefer aisle so I don't have to crawl over anyone.  That leaves the center seat and window seat for passenger to feel bad for inconveniencing me.
3) According to Askmen.com, Jim Anderson (Robert Young) of Father Knows Best is the best TV dad ever. Who is your favorite TV (or movie) dad?
From my childhood, I kind of liked Ozzie Nelson, though that would have made Ricky my brother. My dad was like the Walton Grandfather.
4) Sam's father was the family disciplinarian. What about you? Do you consider yourself a rule maker, a rule follower, or a rule breaker?
At this time of life I am half rule breaker and half rule follower.
5) Sam's father was the one who gave her driving lessons. Think back to your first few times behind the wheel. Were you a naturally good driver?
No I was always nervous behind the wheel, at first, when my dad was with me.  I felt very confident once I was on my own.  In general I am a good driver.
although now I don't like driving at night and avoid it when ever I can.

6) This week's featured artist, Kenny Loggins, was born in Washington state. Have you ever lived in, or traveled to, any of our northern border states? (For those of you not as well versed in geography as Crazy Sam, that's AK, WA, MT, ND, MN, WI, MI PA, NY, VT, and ME.)
When the girls were young we lived in Michigan for several years. We would like to travel through the northwest sometime.  My dad took us to Yellowstone as kids and we traveled through Montana.  The smell at Yellowstone made me sick to my stomach and dad gave me a hard time about it ever after, since I was the one who really wanted to see Old Faithful.
7) As part of the duo Loggins and Messina, Loggins performed the song "House at Pooh Corner." Do you have a favorite character from the Winnie the Pooh books/movies?
Eyore and Tigger were always my favorites.
Tigger, Roo, and Eeyore Round Sticker

8) The mercury is going to start rising. How hot is too hot for you? 85º? 95º? Or are you one of those  "the hotter the better" people?
I get uncomfortable in the high 80's if the humidity gets too high. Thank goodness for air-conditioning, here in the Midwest.   I go as long as I can then we flip it on.  We took over the level payments on gas and electric and so far we do ok without additional money.  I told Mr BC I could live back here if I could always turn on the heat or the air-conditioning. It is built into the budget.
9) To celebrate Father's Day, Sam is giving away her father's favorite candy: LifeSavers. Would you prefer a roll of Wild Cherry, or Butter Rum, or Winter Green or Peppermint?
Oooh! Butter Rum or Wintergreen, please. I loved the LifeSaver books at Christmas when I was a kid.

Arkansas Ozarks Bound

Eureka Springs also known as Little Switzerland
www.arkansas.com
We have made some plans for traveling in Mlle Cozette, at the end of June.  We are going to venture further into the Ozarks by crossing the border into Arkansas and visiting Bentonville, the Pea Ridge National Military Park, and Eureka Springs.  We are going to leave on a Monday and be back the next Friday or Saturday.  Where we want to go is primarily dog friendly but I have located a couple of doggy day cares in Bentonville.
Bentonville is where Sam Walton of Walmart fame hailed from.  I want to soak up a little vintage retail therapy while we are there, but we are primarily going for the art museum Crystal Bridges, Museum of American Art.  We have wanted to see it ever since we saw it on Sunday Morning

Pea Ridge is  important as a  battle site of the Civil War. The battle essentially saved Missouri for the North. The Civil War is Mr BC's field of interest, history-wise, so that this part of the trip is for him primarily.  The dogs are welcome every where but the buildings so that will be my field  of interest.

Eureka Springs is just fun.  We have been several times, some more retail therapy will go on, but there is lots to see and the dogs are welcome on the walking tours, so they should be happy.  Also when I want to go inside a shop, the pups will be Mr BC's field of interest.

Sunday Stealing - Wierd Questions

Do you wear slippers?
I go around in bare feet, except in winter when I have socks on.  I have slippers except I usually can only find one at any moment in time.

How many pictures are in your living room?
Three pictures.  My DD's in graduation mode and a Jean-Claude Picot lithograph.

Sweet Caroline - Saturday 9

Spinner.com
The idea for this came from Harriet, who suggested the baseball theme.

1) “Sweet Caroline” has been sung during every Boston Red Sox home game since the 1990s. (Click here to watch Neil Diamond lead the fans in the first game after April’s bombing.) Do you know the words well enough to sing along?
Sweet Caroline, Bap Bah Bah.  Good times never seemed so good.  That's it!

2) Do you have a favorite major league baseball team?
Not really, though I have gone to Angel and Dodger games when we use to have team building outings at work.  I have a pink Angel's

Fitted Sheets

This has always been a problem for me, but here are some instructions for folding, from our friends from DogHouseDiaries, that really make sense.  If you are already doing it this way, you are smarter than me.

Utterly Obsessed.... With Nothing at All

http://mlkshk.com/
My current obsession are games.  I have been a bad blogger, Usually when I can't write I at least do my rounds and comment. But I mostly Lurk.  I have been seriously hooked on games.  I have been mindlessly playing at Nick Mom, Yahoo, and Facebook.  I use to play a few word games every morning first thing to get the mind warmed up, but lately it has moved more toward obsession.  We started turning the TV off at 9am, but now I think I have to turn the computer off as well.

We have had rain for over a week, with lots of storms that have been very scary, Think Moore OK, those storms went moved on to MO and while we suffered no damage they had potential.  Mr BC follows the weather on his laptop during the storms and I wring my hands.

This is Mr BC's high school reunion weekend.  We went to a dinner last night and it was a very small crowd for an all school reunion, There was a bigger crowd at the picnic.  I got to meet some more of the guys and gals Mr BC has talked about, lo these many years.  Mostly I was a little bored because Maggie and Jiggs weren't there.  We came home, and after a weekend of not taking the dogs with us when we went out, we took them for a walk in the park. They were so happy!

(Amazing) Just the Way I Am! - Sat 9

1) This song is about a girl who can't accept how pretty she is. How do you respond to compliments? Do you accept them graciously, or do you get embarrassed?
I have learned after many years to just say thank you.  Instead of telling the person that their opinion is just wrong.
